Cross Country Skiing: Slowly, but surely a dedicated group of cross country skiers from Atikokan has developed some of the best ski trails in Ontario.

The Beaten Path Nordic Trails Club has developed over 70 kilometers of excellent ski trails north of Quetico Park plus some amazing wilderness trails through Quetico that follow traditional summer canoe routes.

The club also hosts events such as the annual Cross Quetico Lakes Tour, The Sawmill Lake Classic, a "Jackrabbit" program and a "Chocolate Cup" race for kids and weekly ski tours for those not wishing to venture out on their own through our trail system just yet.

Atikokan Activities: With all the wilderness pursuits plus an indoor arena, 3 outdoor skating rinks, a downhill ski hill (with no lineups and the highest vertical between Thunder Bay & the Rocky Mountains) and an indoor swimming pool, winter in Atikokan offers a lot of pursuits for active travelers.
