Getting
Ready for the “Opener”!
Well…here we are,
just a few days away from the walleye opener….the date that really kicks off
the fishing season.
We’ve been working
at the cabin renovations…Cabin #6 now has a completely renovated washroom,
kitchen, plus new flooring in the living room. Cabin 7 & 8 now have living
room carpeting, making them much “cozier” feeling. Cabin #3 is getting new
laminate flooring in the kitchen area, plus new paneling. Lots of “tweaking”,
but making for some of the nicest cabins around! As usual, smaller improvements
to the cabins will continue to be ongoing.
Anyway, it’s been
kind of a nasty, cold spring. The water wasn’t out on Banning Lake until well
into the 1st week of May. The Seine actually opens sooner than many
lakes due to the river current, so we’re lucky in that respect.
Many lakes still
have lots of ice. I drove into Big McCauley earlier this week & it’s still
at least 80% ice covered!
Not surprisingly,
late break ups do affect the spawns. From what I’ve seen on the Seine, the pike
are about finished, albeit they ran a week or so late this year.
Word on the street
is that the walleye are at it right now….late as well. With the opener only a
few days away it may be tough jigging for a few days.
Aside from that,
we’ve had a couple days heavy rain, and the system is dealing with very high
& fast water. It may make fishing in the narrows tough (with the quick
current), plus be on the lookout for all kinds of wood & debris floating
about that has been washed off the shore.
But hey…it’s
opening weekend right? That’s the main thing – we’ll work around all the
obstacles Mother Nature has thrown at us. That’s half the fun!
Talk to y’all
soon!

The 1st
Winter Season
Just seeing a
light at the end of the tunnel for our 1st winter season.
Overall, this
experiment has gone very well. As such we’ll be open for winter tourism in the
future.
Although we
welcomed groups as diverse as work crews working in the bush and hockey teams;
we also welcomed our 1st group of ice fishermen & snowmobilers!
Randy Flier &
Dale Holgrimsom & the guys from Minnesota did very well ice fishing around
the area – caught some nice lake trout and walleyes. The guys fished a lot of
area lakes - many that they accessed by snowmachine.
The ice fishing on
the Seine Chain has been minimal this year, as there was a problem with the
Calm Lake Dam. To make a long story short, the water backed up into the Seine
causing the ice to buckle & creating hazardous conditions. There are some
guys doing some ice fishing on the system now though & doing well.
In any event
though, lake trout are the fish of choice in the winter and many of the lakes
that are hard to get at in the summer, aren’t as bad in the winter with
snowmachines (or for the more ambitious, cross country skis & snowshoes).
We will be
expanding some of our winter business and again look to welcome all kinds. After
all in Atikokan we’ve got great ice fishing, and some of the best snowmobile
& cross country ski trails in Canada!
Plus we’re going
to offer American Plan as well as Housekeeping Packages. This meal package will
kick off for the ’08 deer hunt be offered
to fishermen in 2009!

Thanks for a
Great 2007!!!
A quick “thanks”
to all of you who came to the camp in 2007. You made it our busiest season in
the 40 years we’ve been here!
Again, some great
fishing & adventures happened on the Seine Chain & throughout the
Atikokan / Quetico Adventure Area. Look for many pics to be added to the sites
very soon!
Fish populations
on the Seine continue to look great for all species – walleye, northern &
smallmouth. Continuing to “shock & awe” are some of the great smallies
caught on the Chain in ’07. Lots of action and some real beauties!
Lake trout
fishermen also had a banner year on the various lakes in the area. Guys were
doing great with lakers well into the heat of the summer which was great to see.
We continued to
develop the west end campgrounds which now feature a dock and one of the nicest
outhouses around (!).
Thanks to Garry
& Dianne, Richard & Chris, Howie & Bunty and Daryl & Cora for
all your help & tireless efforts throughout the year!
Our 2 big “new”
cabins worked out great.
In 2008 we’re
actually building a house for us to live in (rather than “cabin hopping”). With
that house will come a dining room, which will allow us to offer American Plan
Packages – something we get a lot of requests for but weren’t able to
accommodate.
Of course, doing
this in retrospect, I’m not able to mention everyone & everything that
happened in ’07, but….a quick few things come to mind….
Lake trout & smallmouth fishing with
Earl Blackwelder in April.
First fishing (for me) of the season. Earl got me out earlier than I’ve been in
years & it was great! Just after ice out, we had some god times fishing
smallmouth on the Seine & a great afternoon of lake trout fishing on Big
McCauley Lake. I had a blast, the fish was delicious and I’m looking forward to
doing it again this April!
Did I mention that
the Painter / Huset group was up 1st this year for a couple days
laker fishing? Our earliest anglers ever!
Opening week in May. The weather was miserable – cold, blowing
rainy –just nasty. More noticeable due to the fact we had groups in from
Florida & Kentucky. Most memorable
line of the summer…Marc Thurman from Kentucky arriving in the blustery
weather….I hadn’t seen Marc since ’06 when they were up….he gets out of the
car, looks at me & says…”You guys gotta turn the heat on!”. It was
hilarious…..but hey – we all caught fish!
Brian Milley Walleye Opener. Brian & Kris came in from Saskatchewan
& did great. Better yet – Brian’s one of my best friends and I’ve fished
more with him than with anyone (often it was when we were supposed to be in
school – but that’s a different story). After some tough fishing, Brian the guys slammed the ‘eyes…..the trick was
to follow my 12 year old son Wyatt. Maybe the torch is being passed…..Anyway,
Brian is making the walleye opener in Atikokan an annual trip & I’m looking
forward to May to do some serious fishing with him.
May was busier
than usual – Ken Nelson & Co returned & did well as usual – especially
with pike. Sharon Melbo & Co made it up again but had to cut it short due
to illness. They made it up again though in September though.
The Popp group of
guys did terrific walleye fishing on the chain…they didn’t have to go too far
in to do so either! The Lockard group found that the smallmouth fishing stood
out for them. Dobson’s mad it all the way from Florida to do some Ontario
angling.
The Schaffhauser
group were up in late May / early June / fished hard as usual on many different
lakes, and, as usual, did great.
June was busy….as usual….Chad Milow came & tied some
of his personal records on the Seine…Chad brought a huge group with him. Some
have been here before, others were new to the Seine. On top of Seine Chain
action, some of the guys….mainly Chad, Dan & Shannon also did some fishing
on lakes like Marmion & Twinling.
Joel Ruppert &
co did their annual trip – great to see them all – had a return to some “dam”
fishing plus lots more….
The Murphy group
made it back and did well again…..looking forward to seeing you all this June!
The Wayne group
scouted the area for moose and, while doing so, also caught lots of walleye!
The guys returned in October for some moose hunting.
The McLeery group
caught some great smallies….unfortunately, the slot size restrictions are in
effect prior to July 1, so the guys don’t have any of them hanging on their
wall. Look for that to change this July as the guys are coming back for some
trophies!
Killeaney’s were
back and, as usual, did great. Sometimes Brian makes it look too easy for the new
anglers in camp.
Late June, as
usual was busy with lots of regulars….Rick & Rick did some great fishing –
the first few days were particularly good.
The Scholl’s made
it up from Bemidji and, had some great action…..one of the best stringers of
all species I’ve seen in a while…the Boudewyns also made it back.
The Hill group
started figuring out the chain; as did the Hedlunds.
Gerry Haulotte
& co did some late June fishing….the Haulotte’s were back later in the
summer for some fishing & blueberry picking.
The Gaertner group
was up & the Halgrimsom / Segler / Miller etc group was here the end of
June for the 1st of several trips in ’07. As usual, they did great
….particularly Thelma’s trophy walleye…the pic will be us soon Thelma!
Rahnastos were up
for the first of several trips this year….Jerry’s another one of those guys who
makes it look too easy.
In July many of the usual July anglers were in camp…
The Flier /
Schiller party did great as they always do….the guys really hit some great
walleye fishing on a couple of occasions….
The Patricks were
up for the 1st time in a couple of years and it was great to see
them. Randy’s has pretty much completely mastered the walleye fishing on the
Seine and has made many friends here over the years teaching others his tricks.
Many of those friends were sure to be here when they heard that the Patrick’s
were coming up again. We really hope you continue to heal & we’ll see you
out on the water hauling them in again
soon!
The Nonnekes
family was up in early July….a few
fished and did very well to feed a group that large. Others hiked, some kayaked
& canoed….others did some birdwatching & spotted over 50 species. Plus
there was an ongoing, very competitive game of bean bag toss….not sure who the eventual winner was, but Congrats
to them anyway!
Don Hettich &
the guys were up – did some awesome smallie fishing. Greg sent us some great
pics which will be up shortly.
The Kreckman group
did very well for the 1st time on the Chain
It was wonderful
to see the Benson’s again…always great to hear stories, and amazing to see all
the kids grown up.
August was much busier than usual….
The Bowers spent a
week fishing the Chain….the Konopliv party were back & did well…I hardly
saw them – they always seemed to be out on the water.
The Daughetee
group was back…..missed them in ’06 so it was great to see them in ’07. As
usual they caught some great smallies in the August heat.
The Ross group
fished in early August & the Lychek’s were over from Thunder Bay….great to
have some T Bay folks in camp!
The Salusbury’s
were u from Toronto….didn’t really fish, but had some R&R. It was great
chatting with John & Linda each evening as dinner was cooking. Thanks for
the great pictures – the ones of keene are great!
Of course it just
isn’t summer without the McNabbs….finally saw them in mid August for a combo
bear hunt / fishing trip. They did great both fishing & hunting….Hey Mike –
thank’s for getting Wyatt’s big smallmouth mounted. It looks great! We’ll see
you all in June this year!
Another great
group is the Arnesons….Ken & the guys did great as usual….Ken’s another guy
who has coached tons of our anglers to success. I regularly hear “Hey – Was
Kenny from Eau Claire up yet this year….” Loads of times each summer.
Brian Milley made
it back again – great to see the family this time around……the Milleys’ were at
the tail end of a huge cross country road trip…from Saskatchewan to Cape
Breton. As Brian quoted in our Registry on August 16 ….”FISHING WAS SMOKIN’!”.
The Kreifels group
did their usual stellar smallie fishing. Hey Matt – the Atikokan Bass Classic
is on Marmion this year….you guys in?
The Buckholtz
group were up in late August….I was away that week, but apparently the guys had
some good fishing on Eye Lake.
In September the Bagby group did some bear hunting
& fishing…
Larry (& Aredell) Killeaney made it back…..J
Muellner & co did some fall fishing as well.
The Brault group
tried some later fishing & seemed to do well.
Scott Van Rooyen
& the guys were in camp from Alberta. Scott went out in some really nasty
weather….it’s great to see a fellow die hard!
I take sloppy
notes all summer long of fishing highlights…..if I missed something, or if you
have a great story from fishing at our camp, please email it to me & I’ll
put it up here.

Getting
Ready For Another Busy Year!
Okay Okay – I
know….last year I promised I’d keep the blog up to date, and as such, have a
current, ongoing newsletter…..
Then, by mid June,
as usual, I fell completely behind – my sincere apologies….BUT this year I’m
going to give it another try.
The balance of
last year saw some great fishing and adventures….watch our sites for
pics…they’ll be up soon.
In particular,
watch the “ seineriverlodge.com “ site. Gary, our webmaster extraordinaire is
completely redesigning the site…new look, bigger pics, lots of info. That’s the
main reason last years stuff isn’t up yet…. But it will be soon.
I thought I’d fire
off some rapid fire imfo for ya’ll here in the meantime….
#1. NO – you won’t need passports to travel
between Canada & the US this year by ground! This is one of the most
common questions we get…you need them for air travel between the 2 countries
but not when driving. We will keep you posted as news comes available via this
site – there’s a lot of rumors and misinformation out there, so watch this blog
for any new, breaking, pertinent info.
#2. Ontario Fishing Licence Rates for 2007….
Annual
Fishing……………………….….$64.90 CDN
Annual
Conservation Fishing….$39.64 CDN
8 Day
Fishing…………………………….$41.62 CDN
8 Day Conservation
Fishing……$24.28 CDN
The rates are a
little wacky because the government actually cut one of our taxes last year.
That’s right – believe it or not, they cut the GST from 7% to 6%, and since the
licences had that tax included, the rates went from nice, rounded numbers to
these cumbersome, weird numbers. But – hey – it’s still cheaper right?
Don’t forget,
anyone booking one of our week long fishing packages in May, August or
September gets an 8 Day licence included in their price (I had to get that plug
in there).
#3. Yes,
we will be opening 2 new cabins this year……
Cabins # 7 & 8
will be open this spring….I’m heading up this weekend to work at them….
What they are is 2
large “portable classrooms” – basically the “shell” is all done & we’re
putting in an all new interior.
They’ll be large
housekeeping units, with all the bells & whistles our other HK cabins have.
We plan on them accommodating 10 people each – one 3 BR & the other 4 BR.
In order to get
them in place, we burnt down that rickety old shed that was in the middle of
the yard, moved the shower house down the hill a bit, and hauled in tons
(literally) of gravel for a good, solid pad.
I’ll try and post
some pics of them as we get them going…..and YES – they will be winterized……
#4. We are flirting with the idea of opening
in the winter….
Call it temporary
insanity, but we’ve played with the idea for a while. The problem is, up until
now, we only had 2 cabins (#5 & #6) that were winterized. With the 2 new
cabins, well, maybe we should give it a go…
Atikokan hasn’t
really caught on for winter sports, despite the fact that we have great
snowmobile trails (that aren’t crowded), great cross country ski trails and
great ice fishing. It’s really just a matter of time.
And we’re very
fortunate to have many of you guys & gals that come in the summer who say
that if we open in the winter, they’ll be here.
I’ll keep y’all
posted with this latest brainwave of mine….
#5. Water levels may start out low…..
Looking that
way…we need rain….(preferably rain & not snow!)….we closed last year with
low water levels, snow levels were so so this year – not real deep…
Aside from that,
it’s shaping up to be another great year! As usual, we have lots of regular
guys making the trip up this year and lots of new groups….plus we still have
good availability throughout the year (thanks to those new cabins)….
Walleye nettings
(the first in 7 years) on the chain last fall showed good, stable levels…the bass
were spectacular as usual, as were the pike.
Our guided trips
made their debut, and our guides “wowed” a number of anglers on Atikokan area
lakes….
I can hardly wait
for it to get going again next month….
Talk to you all
again soon!
June 17 – 24 – Sometimes
Spotty but Good Overall…
Kind of a funny
week of fishing – some guys did really well; others found it a little slow.
Lot’s of wind shifting…water levels are really starting to drop on the Chain…
Travis Graf &
Marty were in for the week. They found the walleye action a little tough, but
caught some bass and they really nailed the pike. They had a great day in
Miranda Lake fishing pike and followed up with a lot of pike out on the Seine
Chain. The got some really good action on Little McCauley Lake in particular.
The Alexander /
Babcock group was up fishing. Terry, of course was up the same week in ’05 and
found this week in ’06 slower, but they still seemed to do very well.
Tom & Jake
Thoma & Jeff Pfliger were back from Wisconsin (4th year? 5th
year? – something like that). As they always do they did great. The changing
winds didn’t seem to affect them too much. They had some really good walleye
action on a couple different occasions (including one time when they were
getting a walleye pretty much on every cast out on Calm Lake when a huge wind
came up and forced them back to camp). They also had 2 great days on Big
McCauley Lake and caught lots of great lake trout.
The Witt group
have fished the general area for some time, but this was their 1st
year at our camp. Like our other groups from Little Falls MN, they know how to
catch fish. They had some good fishing out on the Seine Chain, and are starting
to figure that out – when things got slower out here they did some day trips –
I think to Finlayson Lake, Big McCauley Lake, Dashwa Lake (?). Spent the last
evening back out on the Seine Chain where I hear they did well.
Joe Sell & Co.
found it tougher fishing this year, but still managed a couple trophy bass (22”
I hear – send me some pics Joe) plus great laker fishing again on Big McCauley
(pics to follow).
Mike Murphy &
Co did very well – especially for the first time on the system. They worked
hard and had some good action. They hit some really good walleye action in
Banning Narrows – lots of action & a good shore lunch. Denny Murphy caught
a 34” pike & Mike Murphy caught a 31” pike on Miranda as well. Congrats
guys!
Like I said, this
was one of those weeks when fishing was inconsistent. Winds were shifting like
mad, and with our warm spring, many fish were deeper than expected. Despite
that the guys in camp all worked hard and most got some well received action.
I think the real
trick is to keep an open mind. Keep trying different tackle, techniques –
eventually things will get back on track. The guys that are locked into the
“this has to work – it always works” idea really limit themselves. I’ve seen
every one of those famous fishing theories broen thousands of times.
We always
encourage networking with other anglers in camp – with that many lines in the
water, there’s always someone doing well. No one seems to mind “cherrypicking”
ideas – over time you’ll likely be offering up ideas as well.
Still looking
forward to many more months of great fishing – I’ll try & get more details
for ya’ll as well…
Also… rumours of a
7 lb lake trout caught in Banning Narrows on Saturday June 24. That’s wild as
we’ve never had a laker come out of this system in the 39 years we’ve been
here.
It definitely is
possible – McCauley Creek connects Big McCauley Lake with Little McCauley Lake
on the Seine Chain; although Flora Creek from Flora Lake or Niven Creek from
Niven Lake drain into the chain much closer to Banning Narrows.
Anyone who can
supply any info on this anamoly let me know!
June 10 – 17 – Bouncing
Back…
The first few days
of this week were very good.
Jeff Gonce &
Richard Brown were back for their 3rd year and did great. They
caught some beautiful pike & walleye, but the guys seem to really to be
partial to the smallmouth. They caught a lot of smallmouth, including many
trophy size 18” – 20”+. Thanks for the pics guys (they’ll be up on the site
soon) – can you also email or call us & let us know the various sizes of
the smallies you landed?
The Schwichtenberg
family were back and had some good walleye fishing in various spots. The
problem they have is that Wyat is a pike guy & Clem is a walleye guy; so
there’s always good natured ribbing & friendly negotiations going on as to
what they’re fishing for each time they go out. I’m not sure which side Gini
prefers.
Anyway, it was one
of those rare weeks when the pike were slow on the Seine Chain, so they had a
great pike day on Miranda Lake. Watch for Wyat in the future to be landing some
monster pike - he already has a few under his belt and has the skill & the
passion to bring a lot more in the boat. I’ll have Big Bend Lake all figured
out for you next time!
The Brault / Maas
party had some good walleye fishing, but it tended to slow down nearer the end
of the week. When the walleye started getting finicky on the Seine Chain, the
guys & gals headed over to Big McCauley Lake and did great with lake trout
plus caught some great pike (all in the protected slot). Lakers were apparently
60 – 70’ if I remember correctly(?).
The Severson’s
came up for the first time and young Tyler caught lots of great pike &
bass. Looks like he’s heading in the footsteps of Wyat S. as he seems to prefer
catching the pike & his Grandpa
tells us he has been proclaimed “The Northern King”. We’ll have your picture up
on the site soon Tyler – thanks for sending us it!
Doug Hartman & his Dad Charles were up
for the first time during this week. Their first afternoon they went out with
guide Mike F and after that they were off & running. They didn’t seem to
have any trouble catching lots of walleye and had a great time catching
smallmouth bass as well!
The Kiesner group
were up for the first time & did very well with walleye fishing. The guys
fished hard, but seemed to catch lots. They did mostof their fishing in the
“central part of the system – around the Chub Bridge / Chub Narrows, through to
around Banning Narrows. Why go miles & miles if you don’t have to? The guys
had quite an elaborate fishing contest going as well…haven’t heard the results,
but if you want to email me them, I’ll post them.
June 3 – 10 A Little
Slower…
Not a whole lot to
report for this week, as we had a couple of last minute cancellations, and had
fewer fishermen on the water (plus I did a bad job of taking notes from the
guys that were here).
Anyway, the
Radakovich group fished hard all week and seemed to do very well.
Rick Bronecki
& sons also did well.
Richard Spilchuk
& Howard Hawkes from Atikokan finally took some time to get out fishing and
nailed the walleye out on Banning Lake. Rather than relaxing, these guys are
often helping us out with camp stuff, so it was great to see them get some
R&R and catch lots of fish!
Like I said, I did
a bad job taking notes of any notable fishing moments so if you guys can email
me & tweak my memory that’d be great!
May 30 – June 3 2006 –
Starting to Pick Up
Nearer the end of
May, Marc Thurman & his party came in & fished the Seine Chain for the
first time. Mike Fogg was out to guide one day & gave them some ideas &
techniques for walleye fishing. Mike did some scouting & pre-fishing and
did great with some downstream walleye. The fishing was tough when Mike &
the guys went out though – Mike called it well to go out for the p.m. bite as
the ‘eyes didn’t really start hitting great until about 8:00 p.m.
By the end of the
week the guys had really started to figure out the system. Paul worked on
perfecting his walleye jigging technique and on their last night (June 2) it
really paid off as he & Kerry had about 3 hours of great walleye action.
Paul also landed a 20” smallmouth during his time here.
Despite Marc
trying really hard, it turned out that Ryan won the fishing contest – not sure
if it was based on size or numbers or both. BNot sure
I know I’m likely
missing some stuff from you guys Marc so email me & let me know any other
things to add. I’ll also make sure that we’ll do some “tree trimming” for y’all
next year – you’ll swear it’s the Lake of the Woods(inside joke).
The Schaffhauser
group had a great fishing trip and went on some really good day trips…..
Around June 1 or 2
they caught around 70 walleye not far from the camp, and were the first group
to really hammer the topwater smallies, catching between 40 – 60 working the
north shore of Banning Lake.
Also – George P
caught a great 38” pike and the guys had some great daytrips to Factor Lake and
Miranda Lake where (surprise) they did great with pike.
Brian & Larry
Killeaney arrived in early June for their umpteenth year, and demonstrated
their experience on the Seine Chain. All they guys consistently did great with
walleye (as usual), noting they were hitting on everything – minnows, leeches
& crawlers. The one thing they noted though, was that the ‘eyes were much
deeper then they usually are at this time of year – they caught most aroud 20’
– 22’ + deep.
May 26 – 30 2006 – The
Start of Another Year
Ice was out by mid
April this spring – the earliest I’ve ever seen it – so things like spawning
are on time or early.
Weather this week
was unseasonably warm – water levels slightly high but nothing extreme.
Earl Blackwelder
was one of the first up again – but this time he didn’t head in to the wilds of
Quetico, but stayed in the (relative) civilization of our camp in a LHK cabin.
This year Earl was joined by his wife Louise. It was great seeing them both.
Darryl W was out from Atikokan while Earl was here, and while he tried to sell
Earl on the merits of live bait & jigging it just never washed with the
Blackwelders. They’re partial to more action in their fishing!
The Nelson group
was in that week as well & Ken & the rest of the guys had a good time
fishing. The first night in they did really well with walleyes upstream near
Chub Narrows. As usual they caught lots of pike – particularly in a day at
Miranda Lake.
Starting to see
the bass hitting on some shallow topwater. Good pike not too deep – walleye
still not too deep either.
April 1 2006
– Hello & Welcome to our Fishing Blog
Hello & “Happy
April Fools Day” to all of our regular fishermen (& women), and many of you
that are new to our camp & coming (or thinking of coming) in the next year
or two.
In the past, as
many of you know, I’ve done an Annual Newsletter. In it I would recap the years
events, throw around stories about the fishing or anything related (conditions,
observations, hot tackle etc), and give a bit of an idea about what to expect
for the following season.
The newsletter
worked great – but we wanted to do something more timely & current. Enter
this blog.
We’ll try to
update this on an ongoing, timely basis with fishing reports, conditions, hot
tackle, observations and hopefully all kinds of great fishing stories.
Let me know ( qvbbbb@aol.com ) of any questions you may
have, or anything you’d like to see here.
This blog will
deal primarily with Seine Chain fishing, plus remote lakes that are fished by
our groups. I’ll also add some Quetico lakes stuff as well, but the majority
will likely be systems & waters fished by our base camp groups (for Quetico
stuff check out our Quetico Blog).
Here’s a little
blurb that I just posted on the Quetico Blog…
Some early & Late Season Openings for
Camp Based Fishing Packages
Just a quick line
to let you all know we still have a few openings for the “walleye opener” week
– May 20 – 27.
Of course we’ll be
in the middle of our Great Canadian Pike Hunt at that time as well. The pike
are usually excellent that time of year.
The walleye can be
great too. If there’s a late ice out, all the spawns tend to be late & the
‘eye’s action is sporadic. It looks like we’re going to have an early ice out
this spring (it’s going already!), so it’s looking good for the opener.
Plus – if anyone
likes topwater smallmouth action late May is usually wild. I’d like to see some
people come with fly fishing gear to try.
You can count also
on the lake trout not being too deep. So no matter what your species preference
is, there are great possibilities for everyone!
Also still have
some cabin openings for September fishing trips. Fall fishing can be great,
albeit different than spring fishing – fish are deeper, lakers are in
“pre-spawn” mode etc.
Still some
openings scattered throughout the summer (although certain periods are full or
filling up fast), so let us know what you’re interested in.
Still lots of
possibilities for Quetico / White Otter canoe trips this summer. With the
weather warming up, we’re starting to get a lot of canoe bookings. Remember –
if you’re planning a trip into Quetico, entry is limited & you should book early to ensure your
preferred entry station & date.
And here’s some
